Azza othman

Project Manager

Azza has a master's degree in Community Psychology from the American University in Cairo. She has a good experience in capacity building and project management. Her most recent job before joining Sanad was as a project manager for a research assessment of harassment on campus at a private university in Cairo. She has also conducted needs assessments for staff as a capacity building trainer, leading to the development of various tools for managing documentation and knowledge at a regional center for civic engagement and philanthropy. She worked on evaluating the training of social workers as part of a project between UNICEF and the Ministry of Social Solidarity to build the capacity of social workers nationwide. She also participated in a pilot project to support the capacity building of social workers in the same project. Azza previously worked as a case manager for unaccompanied migrant and refugee children in Egypt with a refugee support organization in Cairo. Azza is also a passionate researcher who published articles in journals like the Community Psychologist (TCP). She has developed research papers; her latest research contribution was a paper on the socioeconomic implications of the pandemic on the most vulnerable groups in Sudan in collaboration with the Asfari institute for civil society and citizenship in Lebanon. As part of her role with the research department at Sanad, she has participated in exploratory research on the status of small care homes in Egypt, and conducted a research consultancy on the alternative care arrangements for unaccompanied and separated refugee children in Egypt.
