Mahmoud Gawdat

Youth trainer

Mahmoud Gawdat is studying Community Psychology at the American University in Cairo (AUC(. He has experience in working with children and youth since he worked as a homeroom teacher, and high school Ap psychology teacher. He worked on with the AUC where he facilitated one workshop and a training program with UNICEF and the Ministry of Education (MOE) for social workers and teachers targeting child development and protection in schools. The work involved assisting the trainers in their work and providing feedback and coaching to the trainees, creating surveys, and conducting focus groups. He designed certificates and flyers that were used by the program manager. As a research assistant, Mahmoud learned to work with software such as NVivo to code themes and transcribing data and using Qualtrics to generate surveys. He gave his first workshop in the Hub for Action and Research in Psychology (HARP Lab) at the AUC titled “NVivo Beginner Workshop”. Mahmoud is an advocate to positive communities as someone who has been volunteering in charity organizations from a young age.
