The collaboration with the Ministry of Social Solidarity plays an integral role in the development of Sanad 's framework and protocol development to ensure a better life for children and youth without parental care.
Through this partnership, not only was Sanad Society the first to develop quality standards for care homes but it also has a proven and ongoing track record of applying and unifying the care standards for children without parental care. In 2008, Sanad developed quality standards based on intensive research.
After rigorous testing in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Solidarity and Civil Society, a ministerial decree was issued to oblige the care homes to apply quality standards for child care in 2014 Since Sanad joined the Higher Committee of Alternative Families and issued a manual guide on the procedural steps for the alternative families system in cooperation with FACE foundation.
Sanad also trained the Ministry's staff on the manual, which was a crucial step in activating the new alternative family system. In 2019, in collaboration with MoSS and Drosos Foundation, Sanad launched the "Care Leavers Independence" project, with a focus on developing the aftercare system in Egypt.
To ensure best practices and quality care, Sanad also launched the "TOT" Parasocial worker training program to build the MoSS staff capacities Furthermore, With a focus on mental well-being like never before, Sanad launched the "Their safety is our responsibility" project, which protects children from any kind of abuse and ensures their mental and physical well-being are catered to.
Sanad has been able to empower 60 care homes through the project.
